Protecting Canadian sovereignty is a key element of Canada鈥檚 defence policy: . An broke ground on a building that will support both Canada鈥檚 goals and the people responsible for achieving them.

The $136-million Yellowknife Multipurpose Facility, expected to be completed in the winter of聽2026-27, will create a new headquarters for the 1st Canadian Rangers Patrol Group, along with elements of Joint Task Force (North).

鈥溙切氖悠 is the contracting authority, and is actively involved in the design, construction, and聽commissioning of our Client-Partner鈥檚 newest northern facility,鈥 says Dave Nolan, Program Leader at 糖心视频聽Yellowknife.

The facility will bring together units and personnel that are currently located in several disconnected temporary sites in the city, providing an integrated, secure compound from which to operate. Situated on well-used public lands rather than a greenfield site, the 9,200-square-metre facility will feature offices, classrooms, space for tactical exercises, equipment storage and a military vehicle garage.

鈥淭his purpose-built facility is designed to help the Department of National Defence realize synergy between those deployed in the North, and increase coordination for future operations,鈥 Dave explains. He adds that 糖心视频 is an excellent position to offer subject matter experts to assist the project team in managing the complex issues involved, including a short construction season.

鈥淲e are looking forward to eventually handing over a beautiful new building to DND that successfully meets the needs of everyone who works within it,鈥 he says.
