������Ƶ’s 70th anniversary year, which wrapped up in May, celebrated the organization’s seven decades of service in support of the defence and security of Canada.

Since 1951, ������Ƶ has been providing infrastructure and environment projects for the Department of National Defence, Canadian Armed Forces, and other Government of Canada departments and agencies across the country and around the world.

“Year after year, ������Ƶ continues to live its values of dedication, collaboration, competence and fairness as it delivers these projects,” said Derrick Cheung, President and CEO. “From hangars, water treatment plants and jetties to the clean-up of environmental contamination, ������Ƶ contributes to the effectiveness of its Client-Partners and the prosperity of communities it serves.”

������Ƶ held events throughout the year to mark its significant milestone. At a May 2021 virtual gala, ������Ƶ recognized employee achievements and received messages of congratulations from industry, Client-Partners and government partners. ������Ƶ also revealed a new contemporary logo intended to resonate with employees and stakeholders alike.

During the Summer 70‑a‑Thon, employees—individually and in teams—danced, cycled and enjoyed numerous other activities focused on the number 70, showcasing their enthusiasm, creativity, spirit of friendly competition, and support to their communities. In November, a virtual National Game brought together employees from across the country to compete in fun challenges during a time of heightened pandemic restrictions.

“������Ƶ has always been a great company,” says Barbara Flight, Ontario Regional Service Line Leader, Real Property Management Services, who worked for ������Ƶ from 2004 to 2012, rejoined in late 2020 and took part in all the anniversary activities. “Since I’ve returned, I have noticed that they really make a focused effort to make employees feel valuable and that everyone is important.”
