James Paul, President and CEO, accepted the award at a ceremony in Toronto on December 4, 2013.

For the second year in a row, ������Ƶ has been recognized for the quality of its corporate financial reporting by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). ������Ƶ won the 2011 Award of Excellence in the category for small federal Crown Corporations for its 2009–2010 Corporate Plan and Annual Report. The CICA, a national industry association, has been handing out its corporate reporting awards for 60 years, as part of a broader program to enhance the quality of financial reporting in the country.

������Ƶ received a 2018 Employment Equity Achievement Award in the sector distinction category.

������Ƶ has been recognized for its achievements in employment equity for the second year in a row. On October 3, 2018, ������Ƶ received a 2018 Employment Equity Achievement Award in the sector distinction category. The award recognizes employers who are inspirational role models, championing employment equity in their sector in addition to demonstrating a strong commitment and achieving success in implementing employment equity in their own organization.

Employment and Social Development Canada presents the Employment Equity Achievement Awards each year to publicly recognize employers’ outstanding achievement in employment equity in their workplaces. ������Ƶ won this award for its outstanding commitment to employment equity in 2017.

������Ƶ received the 2017 Outstanding Commitment to Employment Equity award on October 5, 2017. The award from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) recognizes the efforts of employers who implement employment equity, including removing barriers for members of the four designated groups. ������Ƶ was one of two Crown corporations to receive the award.

Outstanding commitment to employment equity

For the third year in a row, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) recognized ������Ƶ for its . The award recognizes employers that are inspirational role models, that champion employment equity in their sector, and that have succeeded notably in implementing employment equity in their organization. ������Ƶ was acknowledged for moving the organization beyond simply being home to members of the four designated employment equity groups to building a welcoming, respectful and inclusive a workplace as possible.

Two ������Ƶ executives were also recognized by ESDC as Employment Equity Champions in 2019. This award recognizes an executive or executive team of an employer for their proven track record of championing employment equity within their organization, as well as their overall contribution to diversity and inclusiveness in the workplace. Juliet Woodfield, Vice-President, Finance & Human Resources and Chief Financial Officer and ������Ƶ’s former President and CEO, James Paul were acknowledged.

������Ƶ team picks up a win at the RPIC Federal Contaminated Sites national workshop

The Prioritization Assessment Tool created by Nick Sanders, Michael Palmer, Rose Zhou and Amanda Soutar from ������Ƶ's National Capital Region was recognized for excellence in the field of contaminated sites at the Real Property Institute of Canada Federal Contaminated Sites national workshop. More than 600 federal and industry environmental professionals involved in the management and remediation of federal contaminated sites took part. The award was presented to the ������Ƶ team during a ceremony held in Montreal on April 26, 2016.

NRCan Award honours ������Ƶ collaboration on energy management plan

������Ƶ has been recognized for its collaborative efforts to improve energy management at 8 Wing Trenton. ������Ƶ Trenton employees were part of a team that included National Defence and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) representatives that received NRCan's Collaborative Award in June 2015 for developing the base's Energy Master Plan.

Award-winning wastewater treatment project in Canada’s North benefits from ������Ƶ expertise and experience

������Ƶ played a number of important roles in an award-winning wastewater treatment project in Canada’s North. The CFS Alert Wastewater Terraces project won the 2014 Engineering Award for Environmental Excellence from the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists. The project involved constructing a terraced, overland flow system to treat wastewater at CFS Alert, Nunavut.

������Ƶ Environmental Specialist recognized for setting Canadian UXO remediation standards

Glen Gillan, Environmental Program Manager in Atlantic Region, was honoured on May 4, 2010 with the President’s Certificate of Recognition for developing two new Canadian Standards Association technical specifications for UXO remediation. His work helped to bridge the gap between industry and government regulators and is a benefit to all in Canada who work in UXO remediation.

������Ƶ procurement practices recognized with industry award

������Ƶ was recognized by the BCCA as one of seven 2017 Best of Public Procurement owners.

������Ƶ was recognized by the British Columbia Construction Association as one of seven 2017 Best of Public Procurement owners. This is the first time the association has presented these awards. Recipients were acknowledged for their fairness, openness and dedication to transparency in public procurement. The ������Ƶ team was recognized for corporate procurement practices related to projects at CFB Comox, most notably the use of e-bidding, accessible online documentation, and excellence in responding to bidders during the procurement stage.

The U.S. National Procurement Institute’s Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award—which ������Ƶ has received for the fourth year in a row—recognizes excellence in a number of areas related to procurement, including ethics, innovation and e-procurement. ������Ƶ was one of only five organizations in Canada to win the award in 2017.

Industry honours ������Ƶ for pioneering work in electronic procurement

������Ƶ's work to bring electronic procurement to the federal public sector has been recognized by a leading industry group. The Canadian Institute for Procurement and Material Management honoured recent ������Ƶ retiree Richard Allie with its 2016 Project Management Award. This award recognizes an individual's innovation, achievement and leadership when carrying out a procurement project

The National Procurement Institute’s Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) award honours excellence in public procurement. ������Ƶ is just one of five Canadian organizations among the 2014 recipients—and the only federal one. Organizations seeking to receive this designation are measured against criteria in the areas of innovation, ethics, training and development, quality control, productivity, e-procurement and leadership related to procurement.

������Ƶ receives excellence in procurement award

������Ƶ (������Ƶ) has been recognized by the National Procurement Institute by winning the prestigious (AEP) Award for 2023. The AEP Award is designed to recognize organizational excellence in public procurement. Organizations that are bestowed this award demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on criteria designed to measure innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership attributes of the procurement organization.

The application is designed to encourage procurement professionals to go beyond the minimum requirements that are set out and to recognize innovative programs and solutions that exemplify outstanding achievements. The award not only focuses on outstanding procurement achievements, but also recognizes leadership and contributions that further advance the public procurement profession.

This is the tenth year that ������Ƶ has been recognized with the AEP Award—one of and one of only six organizations in Canada.

������Ƶ was awarded with a national Silver Leaf Award of Excellence from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) for the 2016 redesign of the ������Ƶ website. This award is Canada's premiere professional awards program celebrating excellence in business communication.

Collaboration leads to health and safety enhancements at ������Ƶ and DND

The collaborative efforts of a joint ������Ƶ/DND committee are helping improve how health and safety is managed at both organizations. In September 2014, an 11-person DND and ������Ƶ joint committee was recognized for its members’ hard work and dedication to health and safety by receiving DND’s Well Done Award for excellence in workplace health and safety.

������Ƶers recognized by DND for commitment to fire prevention

To kick off the October 2015 National Fire Prevention Week in the National Capital Region, DND´s Real Property Operations Fire Prevention Unit recognized Graham Yantha and Paul Champagnie, ������Ƶ Coordinators, Construction Services, for their attention to and due diligence in ensuring fire safety at all times on their projects. The annual ceremony is an opportunity to recognize excellence in fire prevention by individuals and groups within DND, PWGSC and ������Ƶ.

Contribution of ������Ƶ´s Fire and Life Safety team recognized by DND

������Ƶ´s National Ottawa Area Fire and Life Safety Team was recently recognized by DND for its vast knowledge and the way team members carry out their tasks with professionalism and passion. Each member received the Canadian Forces Support Unit (Ottawa) (CFSU(O)) Fire Prevention Coin on December 13, 2012.

Award-winning project marks paradigm shift in military housing

In late 2013, the Canadian Forces Housing Agency (CFHA) Modular Housing Project Team won an innovation award from the Assistant Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Environment. CFHA is responsible for the maintenance and allocation of approximately 12,500 homes at 30 locations across the country. ������Ƶ collaborated with CFHA to procure a solution to a military housing challenge at CFB Gagetown.

������Ƶ receives the Canadian Forces Liaison Council Employer Support Award

On March 11, 2015, ������Ƶ was recognized by the Canadian Forces Liaison Council (CFLC) for supporting employees as they carry out their duties as Canadian Armed Forces reservists. CFLC is a national group of business and educational leaders who volunteer their time to promote the benefits of Reserve Force training and experience to the civilian workplace. ������Ƶ received the Council's Employer Support Award by setting up a pre-approved leave arrangement for ������Ƶ Technical Specialist Alfred Lai and a major in the Reserve Force to temporarily step away from his ������Ƶ duties to support the family of a terminally ill soldier.

CSEC Long-Term Accommodation Project recognized for finance structure

The Communications Security Establishment Canada´s (CSEC) Long-Term Accommodation Project (LTAP) in Ottawa has won an award. On March 1, 2012, Project Finance magazine recognized the project as the 2011 North American Social Infrastructure Deal of the Year. DCC-CSEC-industry collaboration honoured with RPIC award

In 2011, the ������Ƶ/Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC) team was honoured with the Group-Partnership Award by the Real Property Institute of Canada for the CSEC Long-Term Accommodation project. This award recognizes persons who have actively engaged in, promoted or enabled partnership initiatives in real property with other departments, other levels of government and/or the private sector resulting in increased efficiency or effectiveness.

The Communications Security Establishment Canada´s (CSEC) Long-Term Accommodation Project (LTAP) in Ottawa won the 2011 Silver Award for Project Financing from the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP). The award recognizes excellence and innovation in financing, payment and revenue arrangements for capital projects that involve both private and public sector partners.

������Ƶ Workplace Charitable Campaign wins national award

������Ƶ was honoured with the National Team Spirit Award at the 2016 Charitable Campaign Recognition Awards ceremony on February 21, 2017. This special event brings together Government of Canada Charitable Workplace Campaign volunteers and teams to celebrate leadership, commitment and unwavering enthusiasm demonstrated during the campaign. The National Team Spirit Award recognizes success in creating a nation-wide campaign and engaging employees across the country. Nationally, ������Ƶ surpassed its goal in 2016 by 40%, breaking the $100,000 barrier for the first time.

������Ƶ compensation team wins prestigious Government of Canada award

������Ƶ’s (������Ƶ) compensation team has won a Michelle C. Comeau HR Leadership Award from the federal Human Resources Council.

The team was recognized for its efforts to ensure ������Ƶ employees continued to be paid accurately and on time over a period of six weeks in the fall of 2019, when ������Ƶ’s computer network was unexpectedly offline.

The group processed the payroll for nearly 1,000 employees without access to computers, e-mail, enterprise resource planning systems, personnel files and electronic pay data.

������Ƶ is one of seven recipients (individuals and teams) of a 2019 award. “This year’s recipients have shown innovation, creativity, commitment and perseverance in supporting the advancement of the people management agenda,” the Human Resources Council said.

The awards, named in memory of a former Associate Deputy Minister, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, recognize leadership and excellence in human resources management in the federal public service.

������Ƶ received its award at a small ceremony in Ottawa in September 2020.

This year's winners were announced earlier today in a published in the Ottawa Citizen. ������Ƶ received this special designation as an employer in the Ottawa-Gatineau area that leads its industry in offering an exceptional place to work. The National Capital Region's Top Employers is an annual competition. Any employer, whether private or public sector, with its head office or principal place of business located in the capital region, may apply for this competition. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
